2026-06-06 — Wants, fears & scandal
- Colonists have wants and fears. A new desires layer gives everyone personal whims — wanting praise, a drink with a friend, or to work their passion — alongside private fears like losing a partner, losing a baby, or an affair being exposed. Getting what they want lifts mood; a fear coming true cuts deep.
- Rumors, secrets and scandal. A gossip system spreads news through the colony: secrets get betrayed, shocking rumors travel, and public disgrace follows. Affairs can now happen behind closed doors, and the resulting scandals surface in your colony's chronicles.
- Blackmail and exposure. New events grow straight out of the colony's secrets — a scandal exposed, a blackmail threat — forcing your hand as overseer.
- Colonists remember. An expanded memory system means people carry lasting marks from what they live through, hardening into traits like bitter, grieving, hardened, or resilient.
- More lifelike colonists. New character animations bring colonists to life, with a warehouse door animation and a smoother goods drop-off to match.
- Steadier events. Events now fire at most once a year and roll more randomly, so the pacing never turns into a pile-on.
