neat, so i added a real day/night cycle, with a time scale that runs from 1x up to 8x. so the colony can be watched at a calm normal speed or fast-forwarded through the slow stretches.

the food loop comes full circle

farmers now properly harvest from the orchards and the food actually makes its way to villagers who need it. food can also be stored in houses, so the colony has more than one place to keep its stores. the whole grow, harvest, haul, eat chain runs on its own now.

homes

villagers can be assigned to houses. having a home to belong to is going to be the groundwork for a lot of later stuff around families and mood, and it gives each villager a place in the colony beyond just being a worker.

hunger

this is the first survival piece that's going in. villagers can now starve to death if the food runs out, and there's a game over screen when things go wrong. this is also the first failure state in the game. up to now a badly run colony just looked sad. now it can actually end.

i also added clickable elements so the state of things can be inspected by clicking on them so i can see wtf is going on. i'm a big visual reaction kind of guy so i like to spot check things often.
